Jan Josef Horemans

1714 – 1790

Jan Josef Horemans the Younger belonged to the younger generation of he Antwerp painters of the late Baroque and Rococo. He was a popular painter of genre scenes, representing the bourgeois society, especially during music festivals of all kinds. He was thus following up on the direction established earlier by the works of masters such as the Breughels or Rubens.
