Rudolf Kremlička

1886 – 1932

One of the most remarkable Czech painters of the first third of the 20th century. He studied at the Prague Academy of Fine Artists with professor Schwaiger. He was profoundly perceptive to the echoes of the French Impressionism which was subsequently reinforced by his stay in Paris where, under the influence of the French environment arrived at a distincitve visual expression and succeeded in becoming an excellent painter of female body. A member of the Tvrdošíjní (The Stubborn) group, he was advocating individualisation of visual expression in Czech painting.
